Curriculum Overview

What a year
actually covers.

A high-level look at the ground our mentorship covers across a year. The full curriculum lives with our mentors. This is the shape of it.

The rhythm

Built around the second Saturday.

Mentees meet as a group on the second Saturday of the month, 9:00 a.m. to noon, through the spring semester (February to May) and the fall semester (September to December). That is eight sessions across the year, and each one builds on the last.

There is no group session in January, June, July or August. The focus areas

Six areas, woven through every year.

Each session focuses on one or more key areas. The curriculum deepens year over year. A young man who starts at 9 covers this ground differently than one who joins at 15.

Service in action

Character built by doing.

Our young men don’t just talk about giving back. They do it. Across the year, mentees take part in meaningful service projects:

  • Feeding the homeless across Oklahoma City.
  • Volunteering at the Regional Food Bank.
  • Neighborhood cleanups in the communities they call home.
  • Our annual Thanksgiving food basket giveaway.

The chapter adopted the street. The young men are the ones who clean it.
